A traveling book experiment

500 copies.
Released into the wild.

Every copy of Take Control in this project carries a tracking sticker. Found one? It's yours. Read it, check it in, then leave it somewhere for the next person, and watch where it goes. These 83 lines changed my life. Now they're out in the world looking for the people who need them.

The QR sticker on the back cover unlocks check-ins, with the copy number printed right on it.

Three simple moves

01

Read what finds you

Keep it for a few days. Sit with the lines that hit you. Then send it back out clean for the next reader: no writing, no underlining.

02

Check in the copy

Scan the sticker and add the city where you found it. A name or message is optional.

03

Pass it forward

Leave it where another person might need it: a café, waiting room, campus, gym, or free library.

Why tookcontrol.com?

You took the book.
You took control.

The book is called Take Control, but a title is just words until someone acts on it. You picked this copy up, you read it, and you checked in here. At that moment it stops being the book’s name and starts being a fact about you. You took the book, and you took control. That’s the whole idea. That’s the address.

Bigger than one book

Be part of something moving.

Five hundred copies are out there with no owner and no plan. Except this: keep moving. Tell a friend. Post your find. Leave a copy where someone who needs it will stumble onto it. Every handoff is the project working. You’re not just reading a book, you’re carrying it.

Good questions

FAQ

Can I really keep the book?

Yes. It's a gift. Take the time you need. When you're finished, we hope you'll pass this traveling copy to someone else.

Where should I leave it next?

A friend's hands, a little free library, or a willing local business. Always ask before leaving books in businesses, libraries, or places of worship.

What information is shared?

Only what you choose to share. Your initials, the city where you found the book, and anything you add (a message, a photo, your Instagram) appear on the copy's public journey page. Your full name, email, and phone number stay private. We never show them publicly.

How can I order my own personal copy?

You can get your own copy on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, or Kindle. The Buy your own page has the link.

Can the book leave the state or country?

Yes. Take it anywhere in the world. Every check-in records the city, state, and country, so the farther a copy travels, the better its story gets.
